The Biblical Benefit Of HindsightSample
The world urges us consistently to find true happiness, joy, elation and satisfaction. And often in material possessions, holidays, food, clothes and renovated houses. But we’re never told to seek ‘contentment’. And in every situation? Paul is challenging us here to be ‘content’ (not happy, joyful etc.) in every situation. In other words, content with our lot in life, not forever seeking more. And we can find this contentment, in good times and in bad, through our Saviour.
Are you content with your lot in life? Are you thankful for all you have in Christ?
Pray: Dear Lord, please help me to find contentment in all that you have provided for me. Thank you for all my blessings in life, and give me the strength, through you, to avoid the temptations of the world to seek ‘more’. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan
The irritating benefit of hindsight is that it is often easier to see why we should have listened to biblical wisdom when we suffer through trials and difficulties. The one thing I keep learning is that the wisdom was there all along; I just needed to look for it. It is one thing to have faith in your head. It is quite another to live out that faith in your heart, day by day.
