Love is True
God is good and He loves us.
We hear this all the time! But still, we often find ourselves chasing after what the world offers us. We strive to be more popular. We chase after people’s acceptance and approval. We believe the lie that we need to look and be perfect in order to obtain love and attention. The moment we look for satisfaction and the meaning of life in places other than God and His love, we are actually lost.
The truth is, from the beginning of time until the end, God’s love is the only perfection we could ever find. God’s love is the only force that will never end, and is the only answer to all of our needs. Our hearts can only be fulfilled and satisfied by His love. His love is our security and our safe place.
The story written in Luke 15:11-32 helps us to understand the way God loves us. His love is like the love of a father who welcomes his son back to his home. He doesn’t focus on how far his son has left him. Having his son back at his side is much more valuable to him than anything his son ever did. God’s love for us is a gift, we don’t earn it by our own efforts. His love protects us and will always lead us back to the right path.
“So I lay down all my pride
As I fall right back to You
And You draw me now to Your side
I'm into Your love, love”
- Love is True

About this Plan
We often let our own experiences and feelings take up too much space in our minds. We worry about what our friends think of us, or the “likes” and “followers” we get on social media that we continuously compare to others’, the things that we feel insecure about, and the list just keeps on going. When we let our fears take over our thoughts and rely on our own strengths, it’s easy for us to be skeptical and lose sight of what is truly important in this life. Through this devotion, let’s learn to focus on God, the Unchanging One. The One who holds our lives, the One we can always depend on. Our perspectives and the way we live will be transformed when our eyes are fixed on Him.
