The next time you are outside or at a park, take a look around you. Pay attention to the trees and their roots. When the wind blows, or the rain comes, or the snow weighs them down, the trees stay standing because the roots anchor them to the ground. The roots dig deep into the soil, allowing them to provide for the tree even when it’s being worn down by the world around it. In a similar way, when we choose to follow Jesus, He anchors our hearts to His love and strengthens us from the inside out. And because of this, no matter what we’re going through, we can stand strong in His love. Spend some time this week memorizing this verse. Allow it to help you remember to trust God even when the storms of the world weigh you down.
