John sees a book or scroll that is sealed by seven seals. The opening of the book will reveal God’s plan for the future, but no being in heaven is considered worthy of opening it except for Jesus.
Jesus’ unique role as God and the one who died on our behalf makes him uniquely qualified to fulfill God’s plan for humanity. When we praise him on earth, we get a glimpse of what we will do in heaven for all eternity. Jesus is worthy of our praise because of what he did for us on the cross!
