1027 BC Joab arranges Absalom’s return but David again does not address the problem. In song, David longs for God’s rule.

Note 2 Samuel 14: Though Absalom moved back to Jerusalem (2 Samuel 14:23–24), David weakly ignored him for two years (2 Samuel 14:28). Even after a meeting was arranged (2 Samuel 14:33), David continued to ignore him.
