Note 1 (Numbers 1:46): With 603,550 men qualifying for war, the total number of people must have been well over two million as they tended to have large families.
Note 2 (Leviticus 11–15): God wanted them to take great care to prevent the spread of disease with quite up-to-date no-touch surgical dressing techniques and the use of incineration of all contaminated objects and dressings. Non-disposable items were washed, bagged and sterilized.
