Simple, But Not Easy: Living The Truth Of The GospelSample

Simple, But Not Easy: Living The Truth Of The Gospel

DAY 1 OF 5

Why Live Truth?

Why bother to live truth?

The sad truth is humanity is enslaved to sin. Dead and dying, most of the people you come in contact with will spend eternity separated from God if nothing changes. If you know Jesus, you have the key to their freedom in your pocket, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, if you remain in your cell of sin and rebellion after having been set free by this Gospel, they will not even believe a key exists. When you get the chance to share it, they will not believe your words.

As Christians, one of the main reasons we live godly lives is so others will believe there’s a way out of the mess they are in, take that way out, and praise God for it. Yes, we have limitations and make mistakes, but that shouldn’t keep us from trying. Almighty God can use all of it to prove who He is as long as we are striving to move forward. The contrast of His glory that shines through us when we obey God’s Word against the frailty we display in our weaker moments proves the presence of a supernatural presence in our all-too-natural selves. This attests to the truth of the Gospel and bringing glory to a holy God who deserves it.

We live the truth of the Gospel not because it benefits us from time to time, but because God is always worth it.

How about you? Are you living your life with others in mind, or are you the center of your own world? How do you know?

Does the way you live your life give those who are lost reason to hope they could find rescue and peace in God? Explain.

Do you let your mistakes defeat you, or do you let God use them for His glory by taking the blame, accepting God’s forgiveness, and walking in the confidence of someone who’s been forgiven?

What, if anything, needs to change? What would that look like?

Day 2

About this Plan

Simple, But Not Easy: Living The Truth Of The Gospel

Although simpler and, in some parts of the world, less dangerous, living the life God calls us to isn’t any easier today than it was for early Christians. Thankfully, in the apostle Paul we have a skilled teacher who is able to explain how the whole process works. Ultimately, the decision is yours alone to make. Will you live the truth?
