You Are Not AloneSample
A Crowd Wherever You Go
These days, I travel and minister all over the country and around the world. People say to me, “You go all those places alone? Aren’t you scared?” I always reply, “Oh, I’m not alone. The Holy Spirit and all the angels go with me every step of the way. It’s a crowd wherever I go!” The same is true for you.
Besides promising that the Holy Spirit will always be with you, and enlisting the help of other saints when you need them, God has promised that His angels will be with you too! You have supernatural guards around you all the time.
Despite what some people think, angels are not fat little cherubs with bows and arrows, and they’re not humans trying to earn their wings. God’s angels are powerful heavenly beings, carrying out His works on the earth and in the spirit realm.
Hebrews 1:14 says, “Are they [angels] not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” Human beings who accept Christ as their savior are the heirs of salvation (Rom. 8:17). So according to the Word, angels are sent forth to minister for you.
How many angels are available? Using Isaiah 14:12-14 and Revelation 12:3-4 as guidelines, most scholars agree that a third of the angels fell from heaven with Lucifer (Satan) and became demons. That means that two-thirds of the angels remained in heaven and serve God. That means there are twice as many angels on our side! These angels are waiting to protect you and me. They live to carry out our bidding according to the Word of God.
I have a feeling that most Christians aren't aware of all those available angels, so they aren’t tapping them as a resource. In my mind, this means that there are probably a lot of angels standing around with nothing to do. Why not just go ahead and put them to work, using them to protect you and carry out God’s Word in your life?
You are not alone. You have the Holy Spirit in you, and He’ll never leave you or forsake you. You have other people praying for you. And you have countless angels at your command – it’s a crowd wherever you go.. You have a lot to be encouraged about today—you are not alone!
I tell more about all these benefits in my book Why God Why: What To Do When Life Doesn't Make Sense.
