Am I Really Desired By God?Sample
One of the most unusual and hard-to-understand names of God is “I Am.” God first revealed this name when He appeared to Moses inside of a burning bush. Moses had been living in obscurity, on the run for his life. Forty years earlier, he’d witnessed a fellow Israelite being abused by an Egyptian and tried to stop it, resulting in manslaughter. As a result, Moses had to flee Egypt and he spent forty years in the backside of the desert. It was his first (and wouldn’t be his last) wilderness experience. He quickly found out how a harsh, dry, lonely desert can drain you of all self-sufficiency.
Perhaps you already fully understand how living in the desert can bring you to the end of yourself. Perhaps you’ve been in a desert in your own life, or you’re in a desert right now. Take heart — Moses was there for a solid forty years before he met God in the burning bush. God is on His own timetable and sometimes He isn’t in a hurry. Yet, He wants to spend time alone with you, and that is worth waiting for.
This forty-year period for Moses turned out to be priceless. Those wilderness periods are a critical and indispensable time for anyone who wants to be used by God. You need to know that God is all you need, but so many of us never get there until God is all we have. Being comfortable being alone with God is the prerequisite to being used by God.
After those forty years alone with God, Moses’ antennae were up as he was listening for God, and he was sensitive enough to recognize God when he showed up. Moses was shepherding his sheep and noticed a bush on fire, but the bush was not consumed by the fire. Something strange was happening, and Moses stopped and turned aside to see it.
Had he not been sensitive to that “wait-a-minute” moment, he might have missed his moment with God. This is the problem with being so busy and consumed with life’s dramas and details. When you let that current of busyness carry you along, it’s so easy to dive into fix-it mode and miss a God moment.

About this Plan
The Bible talks about how much God loves us, but does he really love EVERYONE? Surely he only loves the perfect Christians who never make mistakes, but does he truly love me, too? The answer is an abounding YES, and Pastor Van Moody explains it all this plan, based on his book Desired by God.
