PRAYER PREPARATION

Throughout this study, this will be our strategy of preparation for sharing the gospel:

• PRAYER PREPARATION: Begin with prayer.
• GOSPEL INVENTORY: Walk through Scripture and take the truth of the gospel to our hearts.
• SIN SEARCH: Ask the Lord to search our hearts and confess any sin that is keeping us from obeying God’s call to us to share the gospel.
• COUNT THE COST: Ask the Lord to fill us with a renewed commitment and fervor.
• PRACTICAL LOGISTICS: Walk through a few very practical steps to be gospel ready with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
• PRESENT THE GOSPEL

Today we will begin with prayer. Prayer provides a means for the Lord to open our eyes to see to whom He is sending us. When offered in humility, it can soften our hearts to receive His love and to bring the good news of the gospel to our hearts in a new way so that we might be more ready to bring that good news to others.

Let’s pray:
“Heavenly Father, I praise you as Lord God Almighty. You are God, and I am not. Thank you for delivering me from the domain of darkness to the kingdom of your beloved Son, in whom I have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. I thank you for your loving-kindness and compassion to me; for not treating me as my sins deserve. Apart from you, I can do nothing. Help me hear your Word and take it to heart. I need your grace to respond in faith and obey what I hear. Lord, please come meet me where I am. If I am caught in a thicket, help me get out of it. If I am deceived, open my eyes to see the truth. If I am apathetic, spark new desire in my soul. If I am asleep, wake me up. If I am rebellious, reprove me and reign me in. If I am full of unbelief, fill me with faith. Lord, help me hear your voice and follow you. Help me turn from my own ways, from sin, religion, cultural Christianity, selfish desires, vain imagination, and idolatry and share the glad tidings of the gospel wherever you lead and to whomever you bring!”

The Lord has given us His love, mercy, and grace to love and serve others. It pleases and delights Him when we are His feet. Read Romans 10:13-15 once again.
