ETERNAL HOME:
Have you ever been on vacation or spending the night at a friend’s home and felt a little out of place? You might be having a good time, but things just are not settled because you are not home. Home is where you are most comfortable. It’s where your stuff is. It’s where you fit. Places outside of your home might be good and fun, but there is just something about being home that makes things seem right with the world.
Did you know that as Christians this world is not our home? This is just our temporary home, but our true eternal home is in Heaven. The Bible talks a lot about Heaven. Heaven is a place where there is no more pain and no more crying. In Heaven God has prepared a place for us and we will be in His presence! Can you imagine that? All our questions will be answered, and we will be reunited with family and friends who left earth before us. We will all be in the presence of our Lord and Savior - The Almighty Creator and the One we worship!
Life can get tough sometimes. Things go wrong, relationships are broken, people get sick and are in pain. It can be hard to know what to do when things go wrong, and it can be discouraging when these difficult circumstances can’t be fixed. Those are the times when we feel unsettled in life and when we just know we are not yet home. There is hope in our eternal home, and in the good things to come. When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, we are promised this eternal home, and we can look forward to the day we are finally home!
Action Point:
God’s plan for your life does not end on earth. It continues for eternity! Read the Bible to learn more about Heaven and ask God to help you see past your earthly life. Let the truth of our eternal home give you an eternal perspective on things in your life here on earth.
Question(s):
What does the Bible say that Heaven will be like?
What are some difficult things in your life right now that knowing about our eternal home can help bring you hope?
