Counting The CostSample
MAKING GOOD CHOICES:
Most tests you take in school have different types of questions, such as multiple choice and true or false. These questions have definite right or wrong answers, and your answer to these questions will likely depend on how well you studied. If you did not study, chances are you will choose the wrong answer.
Just like studying is an important part of choosing the right answers on your tests at school, spending time with God is important to making good choices in your life. When we take time to seek God and ask Him for His wisdom in our lives, He will guide us in our decision making. This is important because most choices we face are hard to make. Most people tend to make the decision that is easy and popular, but God’s Word tells us that His way is not always the popular or easy way.
When we keep our hearts and minds fixed on what is true, pure, right, and pleasing to God, He will guide our steps and decision making. We just need to make sure to carve out time each day to spend with Him and in the Bible.
Action Point:
As Christians, we are called to be set apart from the world and look different. When you find yourself faced with a hard decision, stop and look at what most people around you are doing. Chances are, if the people around you are not seeking God, they are all doing the same thing. The decision you need to make will probably not look like what they are doing.
Question(s):
Have you ever had to choose to make a right decision that wasn’t easy?
Do you find that it is easier to make those decisions when you are spending time with God?
