MERCY
It’s not always easy to be kind to other people, or to put them first, but can you think of a time when someone did that for you? How did you feel?
Read Matthew chapter 5, verse 7, if you haven’t already done so.
Are these statements true—or false?
- ‘Showing mercy’ or ‘being merciful’ is what God wants: TRUE or FALSE?
- Mercy is helping people in need: TRUE or FALSE?
- Mercy is forgiving someone else: TRUE or FALSE?
- Mercy is being kind and gentle towards other people: TRUE or FALSE?
Remember these two words: JOY and MERCY. If you have one, it helps you to have the other!
Pray. Think of someone you could be merciful to. Pray for that person now and ask God to help you.
