God's Story Is Our Story: From Acts to New CreationSample

God's Story Is Our Story: From Acts to New Creation

DAY 1 OF 110

What are we here for? What is a good life? How we answer these questions goes a long way in answering what story we see ourselves in. Yet, there are times we wonder whether we are living the right story with our lives. We live our best lives when we place ourselves in God's story. This story is contained in the Bible.

Our first reading plan covered from the very beginning of the story in Genesis and went through the historical accounts of Jesus and his time on earth. This reading plan picks up after Jesus' resurrection covering the historical accounts of the early followers of Jesus, the teaching and instruction for the early church and the generations to follow, and pictures of what lies at the end of this story.

We chose to follow a chronological approach to this part of the New Testament: placing the letters chronologically when they were written approximately with the historical accounts of the book of Acts interspersed.

Each day will have a chapter or two for reading. Some days will include a video from The Bible Project (used with their permission) that will aid in understanding the historical context and the overall message of each book or to understand a theme that is developed through much of the Bible. On the weekends, there will be some devotionals that will encourage reflection on what you read in the previous week.

We hope this plan will deepen your love for God and help you see your story more and more in light of the great story he is telling in the world.

About this Plan

God's Story Is Our Story: From Acts to New Creation

Make God’s story your story. In this plan, we pick up the story after the resurrection. We highlight three themes through daily scripture readings, Bible Project videos, and original devotions: 1) Jesus as the message and mission of the church. 2) The scope of that mission to all nations and all of creation 3) God’s surprising grace in the face of human evil.
