Planting Seeds Of FaithSample
Disagreements Happen
The conversations with our children change as they grow older. This is especially true on topics where there are disagreements. Proverbs 22:6 gives us the perspective that we are in it for the long haul. We are to build a Biblical foundation when they are young. As they grow older there may be times when our children do not seem close to Christ. But we have the promise that this foundation is always with them. Darlene Brock uses a messy bedroom as an example of how to parent with a Proverbs 22 mindset.

Jesus approached His relationships with His disciples in a similar way. He knew that there would be peaks and valleys. Look at what happened at Jesus' arrest. Everybody fled and He stood alone. Yet in a few short years, those same disciples who ran away took the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Many even died a martyr’s death. Our pattern for parenting can follow Jesus’ model. Start investing in your children's lives early and leave the results to God.
