Paul commends the believers in Thessalonica for their spiritual progress. His heart is overflowing with thankfulness to God because His prayers for the young fellowship have been answered. He sees strong evidence of a thriving church because of their steadfast faith in God in the midst of affliction and their loving service to one another.
Do you celebrate the spiritual progress of your sisters in Christ? Rather than focus on negative examples and people who disappoint us, we should affirm people who are making healthy choices to follow after God. We should also examine our own hearts to see if we are growing in faith and love.
Lord, I want my faith in You to grow. Help me love others selflessly and follow after You steadfastly. Amen
