Love God Greatly: 1 & 2 ThessaloniansSample
Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12
SOAP: 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Paul continues his practical exhortation to the Thessalonians regarding how to walk in a way that is pleasing to God. He encourages them to do three things: to cultivate greater love for one another, to live quietly and mind their own business, and to provide their own income through hard work. Paul challenges us to continue to grow our faith by taking action, rather than thinking we’ve “arrived.”
Is your faith growing stagnant? If you aren’t increasing in your love for others, you may have heart work to do this week. This message is not for someone else you think is struggling - remember to mind your own business and stay in your own lane. Ask God to give you a diligent heart that pursues Him wholeheartedly.
Lord, help me stay in my lane this week and love like Jesus. Amen

About this Plan
In the books of 1st & 2nd Thessalonians, you meet a church who are going through some storms. Severe persecution is threatening their lives, and they are clinging to the promise that Jesus is coming back. This promise is from the Promise Keeper…He IS coming back. The Thessalonians had to learn to live with this hope as they lived their lives in the now.
