Week 2: You Will Receive Power: God's Promise Through the Holy Spirit
God's Promise: " You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you." (Acts 1:8 NIV)
My Promise: I will seek to sense, see, and hear the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is central to the life of the Christian. Everything that happens from the Book of Acts to the end of the Book of Revelation is a result of the working of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit came alongside the disciples, indwelt them and gave the early church the push that they needed to face the challenges ahead. He wants to do the same for you. The Holy Spirit enters the believer upon confession of faith. From that point forward, the Christian has access to the very power and personality of God. As the Spirit has his way in the life of the believer, a transformation occurs. The believer can begin to think like God thinks, love like God loves, and see like God sees. The believer can minister in power and pray in power and walk in power. The Holy Spirit baptized the early believers in power and promises to do the same for all who follow.
Unshakable Hope Declaration
We are building our lives on the promises of God. Because his Word is unbreakable, our hope is unshakable. We do not stand on the problems of life or the pain in life. We stand on the great and precious promises of God.
