Can You See It? 

The Christmas Story tells us about worship. You can read the story in Luke 2:1-20.. 

A long, long time ago, more than 2,000 years ago, a young girl named Mary was visited by an angel named Gabriel. He had a very special message for Mary. “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.” 

When Jesus was born, there was great rejoicing. “Suddenly many other angels came down from heaven and joined in praising God. They said: ‘Praise God in heaven!’ Peace on earth to everyone who pleases God!’” Shepherds soon came to visit and worship the newborn baby king. They were glorifying and praising God for the things they saw and heard. 

Wise men came from the east searching for baby Jesus. The beautiful bright star that shone in the night sky led the way for them to come and worship their king. 

Just like Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and the wise men honored and worshiped Jesus, we are to honor and worship him, too. One day, when we are in heaven, we will be gathered around his throne honoring and worshiping him forever.

Can You Do It? 

Praise God every day throughout your day.

Praise God in all circumstances. This is a choice!

Have a thankful heart. This not only pleases God but also is an important part of praise and worship. Praise him when you wake up. Praise him when you eat. Praise him when you go to school and return home. Praise him before you fall asleep. That's the way you develop a habit of praise.

Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and making me one of your children. Help me love and obey you. Help me love others the way you love me. I am sorry for my sins. Wash me clean. I will praise you with my whole heart!
