Don’t Just Be A Consumer
Jesus speaks clearly to the disciples… “soon I will be hung on a cross and killed”
Could you imagine!?
And here is Peter rebuking the very thing Jesus has to do! So, Jesus says, “you’re acting like a consumer not a follower; you’re concerned with what’s going to happen to you if this happens to me”
“Whoever really wants to be my follower has to pick up their cross and follow me. You’ll have to deny yourself, which means, NO to you and YES to Jesus”
Choosing wisely focusses on choosing God’s best rather than the desire for the moment.
Jesus isn’t looking for our full understanding; He’s looking for our full commitment to obedience.
Challenge:
Today, choose to be a follower, not a consumer. Say yes to Jesus even when it means saying no to yourself.
