How to Receive Revelation - Disciple Makers Series #17Sample
A time to be quiet and listen to God speak
Thoughts on the message
A revelation of Jesus. This is something I want in my life. Yet when the disciples received one – they missed the point. God had to instruct them to be quiet and listen to Jesus. And that is the point of revelation. It is a time to be quiet and listen to God speak. There is something special that God has to say to us. If we do not understand – then we can ask for God to explain it to us. Then, the need is for obedience. God released it to us so that we can walk in greater obedience.
In addition, Jesus required them to keep it to themselves until later. That is a difficult thing to do at times. We want to share the great experience. Still, it needs time to be understood completely. So unless God is clear that it needs to be shared immediately, allow God to use time to firmly plant it into your heart.
Prayer
Father, I read about this amazing revelation of Jesus and I want to see Jesus just like they did. How can I? Prepare my heart even now I pray. I want to be able to respond correctly when Jesus reveals things to me. So give me a listening heart. Give me a humble heart. Give me a heart willing to wait and let the message take firm root in my spirit. Give me an obedient heart to obey. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
