From a field to the place of worship – the same issue, doing things on the day of rest.

Here a man with a crippled hand is healed—Jesus did work. The religious leaders just hated this. Jesus keeps breaking their rules and saying that it is okay. On top of it, it is obvious that God is approving what Jesus did by releasing healing as Jesus requested. The sad thing is this: Why did the spiritual people miss the fact that God is honoring Jesus by answering His request to heal the man? 

Be careful. 

It is easy to miss what God is doing when we think we know what God wants—but really do not. We have all done it, and will do it again. 

So take time today and let God speak—and listen.

Time to Pray

Father, I ask You today to show me where I have been so fixed on what I think that I missed You and Your words to me. It scares me how often I miss Your words. It scares me how easy it is to be offended by what You do—when You do everything well. It is a picture of me that I know is true but do not like to see. So Father, give me clear eyes to see. Give me a heart to honor Jesus always. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
