Ready For War!
It would sure be nice if everything in our lives came easy. But the reality is they don’t and even Jesus warned that this life would have its troubles. God does promise that one day the problems of this life will be nothing more than a spot in our rear-view mirror, but until then, the Christian life involves warfare. We have guaranteed victory in Christ, but there are still battles to be fought and challenges to be faced.
King David was a man who understood what it meant to come face to face with the enemy. Time after time David went into battle knowing that God was on his side and time after time David came through victorious, even when the odds were stacked against him (think Goliath).
David was a great warrior, to be sure, but more than that he was a man that sought the Lord and had a deep desire to bring God the glory He deserves.
God will fight for us, but He will also train us. David started young, learning to fend off hungry wolves with sticks and stones. As David grew, his battles grew larger, but so did his battle skills.
Man of God, woman of God, you are a mighty warrior in Jesus! God is always with you, always fighting for you, and always preparing you for victory. Though you may feel overwhelmed at times, the battle is never too big for you. May this be a year of great victory in your life. You are filled and empowered with the victorious Spirit of Jesus Christ!
PRAYER
God I thank you that, even though I face battles daily, I know that you are always with me, always on my side, always fighting for me. I want to learn to fight better. I ask for your strength. Fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit. Arm me with the truth of your word. Impart your wisdom to my heart. Help me fight the good fight of faith. Equip me to be more than a conqueror in Christ!
About this Plan
All you were meant to be - your hopes, your dreams, your deepest desires - are found in the person of Jesus Christ. In this study, you will learn what God's word reveals about God's plans and purposes for restoring you to the person that He intended you to be. As you increase your understanding, you will grow in your ability to cooperate with what He desires to do in your life.
