NT 260: Part FourSample
There’s something beautiful about hearing someone offer heartfelt prayers to God, and here we have the amazing privilege of listening in on Jesus as he prays both for His mission, and for the mission of His followers – including us! And while we can’t say for sure, it is likely that this sacred moment takes place in Gethsemane, where Jesus had asked His disciples to “Sit here while I go and pray” (Mark 14:32). In a few short hours, Jesus will be arrested, and His agonizing journey to the cross will begin. But notice the confidence and faith with which He prays at this most trying hour!
What stands out to you about this prayer? And how does it encourage you in your own prayer life?
