Week 3: Be a Man in Your Work

We are already into our third week of our 'Man Up' Devotional Series, and during this third week, we will focus on being men of God in our work. Too often we read Genesis 3 and assume that the curse mankind received from the fall was work. Contrary to popular belief, God put Adam to work far before the fall – work is not the curse. We were always meant to work – that’s part of the reason God put us here, and it’s a gift from God. There’s nothing better than being exhausted at the end of a hard day, knowing you did great work.

Our society is hell-bent on making work out to be the curse – after all, wouldn’t all Americans at all times rather be watching Netflix and playing Candy Crush on their iPhone? Real men know that work is from God because they understand that it honors God. Let’s honor God in our work, refusing to be lazy or take the ‘easy way out.’
