4 Days to Growing Gratitude in MarriageExemplo

4 Days to Growing Gratitude in Marriage

Dia 1 de 4

Although we may not always notice or remember it, God is the origin of everything that is good, right, and true. James 1:17 says “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,” and that in God, “there is no variation or shadow due to change.” He is unchanging and always good. Gratitude springs naturally when we look to God and see Him for who He is.

We may face daily difficulties and struggles, yet though life may be hard, we know He is still good. The Psalms in today’s reading remind us of God’s power, faithfulness, and goodness, repeating the refrain that “He is good.” They tell of His power and authority. So many things in the world are out of our control, but God IS in control. What is one reason you are thankful that He is in control today?

We don’t always notice His goodness. We don’t always worship and praise God simply because He is worth praising. But when we do, it will change us. What do you see in today’s verses about God’s character? What attributes are worthy of gratitude and praise? Today, be intentional to thank God simply for who He is.

Next Steps: Today, write down one of the scriptures from today’s devotional on an index card and place it where you can see it and refer back to it often such as a mirror, the fridge, or your dashboard. Practice committing these words to memory.
