Holy Week DevotionalExemplo
Today is the day of Jesus’ resurrection! In Luke 24, we see those famous words, “He is not here; he has risen!” Life was brought back into his body by the Spirit of God.
Jesus had not only paid for our sins, but he overcame death! This is the most significant event in the history of mankind. The Resurrection is a big deal for us as believers. Paul actually says that our entire faith hinges on the fact that Jesus was raised from the dead. Jesus overcame, and that is good news because if he overcame, so can you.
You see, resurrection was not just an event that happened 2000 years ago, because before Jesus was ever resurrected from the dead, one of his own friends died, named Lazarus. This is where we see Jesus tell his friends, “I am the resurrection and the life,” before He even went to the cross.
Resurrection is not just an event in history, it is a person. And the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in each of us. So no matter what looks dead in your life, no matter what you are struggling with, there can be a resurrection.
He can resurrect that friendship, he can resurrect that relationship with your family. He can resurrect your purpose. He can resurrect your story no matter how lost it seems.
Jesus is in the resurrecting business still today! So today, we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, and expect a resurrection from Christ in our life. Our God is not dead, he is alive. Since he overcame, there is nothing too hard for you to overcome.
Today as you pray: thank Him for his sacrifice and love for you! And reflect on how we can show His love to others this season!
