Distraction: The Enemy of DirectionExemplo

Distraction: The Enemy of Direction

Dia 1 de 7

Distractions suffocate promises.

They always leave you feeling underdeveloped, and they utilize your fears to drive your life and make your decisions for you.

Distractions can cause a directionless lifestyle; leading us on a journey to nowhere, living for temporary pleasures that always dry up faster than they came.

The emptiness that consumes someone’s heart because of distractions is paralyzing.

When you’re distracted:

1. You limp by in life, frustrated that you’re not producing what you feel the natural instincts to produce.

2. You’re constantly reminded to survive because if you peeled back the curtain of distraction, it would involve the weight of risk your lifestyle and heart haven’t been conditioned to carry.

It’s a tragedy being powerful and not knowing it, but it’s devastating being purposed, but driven by distractions. As you go through the journey that you’re currently on, it’s important to clear your vision of distraction, obstacles, and objections. We must be strategic with what we’re placing in our hearts and in our minds.

And, once we’ve refreshed our minds and cleared our vision, then we will be better prepared for the rest of our journey.

This concept of distractions driving our lives is described in the Bible on several occasions. The Israelites focused too much on giants, the number of people, and the size of the city walls. Eventually, the distractions were all they focused on and it caused them to doubt this could be their God-ordained next step.

But 40 years later, there was a new generation with two men leading them into the same land God promised them 40 years earlier. One of those men was a man named Caleb.

Caleb stood with Joshua and said to take the land 40 years earlier when the entire nation was fearful. He was able to serve faithfully for 40 years with a promise lingering in his heart. Caleb kept his heart pure and his passion focused. Yet, God states that he admires a special quality about him in Numbers 14:24, where he declares that due to Caleb following God wholeheartedly, that God would bring Caleb into the land, and Caleb’s descendants would inherit it.

I believe the same thing is being said about you!

Get rid of all the distractions.

Stay focused on His promises.

Face the doubts and fears that cause you to hesitate.

And remember the purpose that He has in store for you!
