DANCE PARTY!

I was driving home today and heard an old familiar song and turned it up on my radio. A flood of wonderful emotions came rushing through me. When my children were little, I used to have impromptu dance parties in the den to break up the day or at night after bath time to shake things up a bit. We would turn on the music and dance to the music blaring out of the speakers. The girls loved to twirl in their nightgowns, and I remember Taylor just running from one side of the room to the other with a hop at the end. That was his form of dancing, either that or running and bumping into his sisters. Abby would just stand in one position and jump up and down. I’m sure the neighbors wondered what we were doing.

It was so much fun for me and the children, and Greg when he was home. Have you ever done that before? You should try it sometime. Ten or fifteen years later you may be riding down the road and hear a familiar song come on the radio that reminds you of those dance parties, and that same wonderful feeling will come flooding back in your memory. Music is a wonderful outlet of emotions.

Listen, your children don’t have to be little, either. Dancing is good at any age. Have a dance party tonight in your home. It doesn’t have to be fancy, nothing special, just turn up the music and have fun!
