Jesus Heals - Part 1

The complete story of Jesus healing Peter’s mother-in-law is spectacular, per historian Dr. Ron Charles. Tiberius Caesar’s Governor General of Medicine, Marcus Omericus, records this event in September of AD 27 in Capernaum.

A disease similar to bubonic plague, also known as the “black death,” is ravaging lives. It begins on Jan 25 AD with a caravan of more than 800, which has gone to remote parts of India, Tibet, Nepal, etc., to buy spices – spikenard, pepper, etc. On return, the fleas on rats infest mules, horses, and camels in the caravan. The people in the caravan and those in the places the caravan passes through start getting infected. Over 310,000 lives are lost.

People get tumours in their arms and neck, chills, vomiting, fever. The only way they knew to prevent the spread was to slash out the large tumours before they broke open. If they broke open, anyone breathing them would breathe the infection.

Previously, the caravan stopped East of the Euphrates for nine months. The disease slows down. When it proceeds, the disease starts spreading. Omericus stops it in Damascus. He discovers that fever is the last stage which is 100% contagious with 100% certainty of death. (Peter’s mother-in-law, Latricia, was at this stage.)

The second, more drastic approach is to confine the ill with their family and torch their houses. Over 16,000 houses are torched in Damascus. The disease seems to have stopped. Tiberius gives the order for the caravan to continue. Within a week, the disease is back. In the latter part of August of AD 27, the caravan reaches Capernaum on its way to Rome in August of AD 27.

On the way, many houses are torched. Latricia is having fever. Marcus Omericus is standing at Peter’s house, about to torch it, when Jesus is summoned.

Before Jesus enters, he is warned that he cannot come out as the house s going to be sealed and torched. Jesus enters anyway. The doors are sealed. The doors fly open, and Jesus walks out with Peter’s mother-in-law, Latricia. Even when tumours are lanced, a person normally takes 2-3 weeks to get out of bed.

Marcus records in big, bold letters presented to the Roman Senate – ON THAT DAY, THE DISEASE WAS STAYED in Capernaum, and it went no further.

Others come to Jesus, and he heals them all – all day and night.

Jesus can heal in the most impossible of situations – mind, body, and soul.

Gracious Jesus 6 - the King’s Touch

His hand brings healing to many. He touches the untouchable. His voice calms the seas and speaks power. He breathes new life into lives shattered and wasted by demonic influences. He even stops a pandemic. So simple, yet so powerful. So gentle yet so full of authority. So loving, yet tough on the hard-hearted! This is King Jesus, who walked among us and lives within us even today.
