Walking In Grace: A 7-day Journey Of Beauty And TruthExemplo
“Making Art”
Grace. To thanksgiving. To glory.
For us to live that grace-thanks-glory progression – to create beauty – maybe all it takes is looking up from the sludge of life long enough to celebrate how the suffering of Jesus has set us free. Maybe the aesthetic appeal of each new day would change if we opened our heart-eyes to His mercies: new every morning for this world, new every morning for you and me.
Because to live the wide-eyed, beauty-hunting, thankful life is to make art with the words or songs or plates of pasta or text messages or other random materials of any given day. Any ordinary magical day. Thanksgiving has a way of transforming what is bland into what is noticed, treasured and laden with splendor.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT: Your day probably looks very ordinary, or very stressful. It doesn’t look like a gallery. But could you give thanks for just one thing? Could you display it in a different light – hang it up as art?
PRAYER: God, open my eyes to the ways in which Your grace and goodness surround me, so that I can give thanks, and paint today on canvas. Amen.
