Courageous FaithExemplo
Day 7: It’s Your Choice
Congratulations! You’ve made it to the 7th and final day of the Courageous Faith YouVersion. I’m so thankful that you chose to take this 7-day journey with me, and I hope that I have biblically equipped and empowered you to live with courageous faith!
On our final day, we’re talking about free will. How what we do is ultimately our choice and our choice alone. One of the greatest gifts God gives to men and women is the gift and power to make choices.
We make thousands upon thousands of decisions a day––some important, some trivial! And for each of these choices, we are responsible for the consequences.
In this last chapter of Joshua, we find he has assembled the people in order to deliver his final words to them. This last address is about making choices and the exclusivity of those choices. We can’t serve God and someone or something else at the same time.
Joshua called the ancient Israelites to a time of reflection in order for them to recall their true identity, the place and people from which they’d been delivered, and all God had done for them. Joshua 24:1-13 recalls the episode. At Shechem, one of the cities of refuge, Joshua called all the tribes of Israel together. He called the elders, judges, and officers to present themselves before God.
God is with us and will never desert or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). When we stay rooted in His Word and connected to Him, the Vine, we can ensure we will make the decisions that glorify God and advance His heavenly kingdom on earth.
What master will you serve? What choices will you make? Stop living in the ordinary and dare to live with courageous faith!
