Day 3 - Who Is To Come

The Gospel story finds its resolution in the final defeat of Satan and his forces and the cohabitation of God and believer for all of eternity. Jesus tells whoever will listen over and over again that He is coming back and inaugurating a kingdom that will not pass away and cannot be destroyed. Finally, all waiting is over; every tear will be wiped away; death shall be no more. Mourning, crying, and pain are gone and behold, all things are made new. Enshrined as the direct Center and Focus of this new kingdom is He who was before the beginning and He who holds ever-present time in His hands. The once-before Lamb who was led to the slaughter and now a victorious lion coming to rescue His people. He who for a moment was the most sin-laden, cross-hanging miscreant to ever live into the perfect and sinless Savior of the world. Jesus is not in heaven - He is heaven. The promise of the Gospel isn’t that we end up in the same world as He but in the same room. The saga of this life is living in a dim-lit alley and lacking the ability to see clearly all that is happening. But, with a steadfast hope and faith, we desperately cling to the righteous King of Glory, knowing that our days of seeing dimly will come to a dramatic halt, and in an instant - we shall see face to face. No more questions. No more doubts. Time will no longer confuse what was His perfect patience for tolerance. He said He would deliver His children once and for all, and that is exactly what He will do. And no matter how difficult this life has been, how tumultuous the waves were, or how deep the pain of things in this existence, after one second in Glory, we will shout with the apostle Paul, it was all worth it!!

WORTHY ONE

The 'Worthy One' is described in Revelation as the one who is, who was, and who is to come. In this 3 day reading and devotional plan, the reader will be spurred to be in reverence and awe of this three-fold truth that God has always been, always is, and always will be on the throne.
