Uncommon LoveExemplo
THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
As we’ve learned, God's love compels us to reach out to those around us. As we share His uncommon love with others, He is with us every step of the way. The Holy Spirit empowers us in our witness to others. In today’s Scriptures, we see that the Holy Spirit has three main roles as we share:
The Holy Spirit leads us.
As we read in Acts 8, Philip was led to an Ethiopian eunuch with whom he could share about Jesus. As you go about your day, the Holy Spirit will prompt you to share His love with someone. It may be as simple as buying someone a coffee or giving an encouraging word. It may be asking if they are ok and listening to their story. If the opportunity arises, you will feel prompted to share your story and what Jesus has done in your life.
Remember this; when the Holy Spirit leads you to reach out to a person, He is already at work in them. You are partnering with God!
The Holy Spirit gives us the power to be a witness.
In Acts 1:8, we read that The Holy Spirit gives us the “power to be a witness.” What is a witness? In a court case, witnesses testify about something they know or have seen, giving evidence of a story. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to witness those in our world.
The Holy Spirit transforms.
You don’t have to know everything or have it all together; you only need to know Him and His uncommon love. You don’t have to “fix” or “save” people. The Holy Spirit will do the work in a person’s life. Our role is to share His uncommon love and our personal story, even if that story is a work in progress! You can speak of the love and mercy of Jesus and leave the rest up to the Holy Spirit.
Let the Holy Spirit lead you in love and in sharing your faith story with others!
Daily Prayer
God, thank you for helping me through the Holy Spirit today. I pray that you will lead me to someone who needs uncommon love today. I thank you for having changed my life and giving me a story to share with people around me. Give me the boldness and courage to share it. Draw me to those you are already at work in today.
Sobre este plano
The Bible speaks of a love that is unfathomable. God’s love is limitless, offered freely to all people at all times. It is an uncommon love. Over the next 14 days, we will go on a journey of first understanding His uncommon love for us and then how His uncommon love empowers and compels us to live.
