100 Days of Prayer for Women: What to Pray During Your Busiest Days by Carolyn LarsenExemplo
Father,
You give me absolutely everything I need, though not everything I want. It for sure takes me a while to understand the difference. But for that brief moment when I do get it (because let’s just be honest, sometimes the understanding is fleeting), my heart is filled with peace and gratitude. But then the “wants” win out again, and I start living like a duck in the water—looking calm on the surface, but underwater my big old feet are paddling for all I’m worth. I burn so much time and energy trying to get all my wants by myself instead of settling down into how you meet my actual needs.
I guess I could try to blame this on today’s culture that relentlessly shouts how I have to be independent and self-sufficient and all that. But . . . it’s really just sin. It’s my sin. My failure to trust. My failure to be satisfied. My control-ling spirit. I’m sorry, Father. Life would be so much easier if I could just let go and appreciate how you meet my needs.
Appreciating all you do will help me forget about my selfish wants and be grateful for all you give.

You live a busy life, juggling work, family, chores, and more. Challenges like difficult relationships, health concerns, deferred dreams, and loss come into this busy life. And also blessings, like a new job, a new baby, new friends, and new hobbies. All of these are things you can pray about. But maybe you're not sure how. Spend the next seven days learning to express yearning, praise, lament, and gratitude to God in the precious few extra minutes you have.
