Finding the Light in FearExemplo
DAY 7
UNTOUCHED BY FEAR
Welcome to our last day of Scripture study on the topic of fear. We have learned about an unyielding kind of faith through the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The three God-honoring men refused to worship as the king commanded and therefore were bound by the strongest soldiers and thrown into a fire seven times hotter than usual. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were protected by God, whereas the fire killed the soldiers who threw them into the furnace.
Yesterday, King Nebuchadnezzar knew there must have been a Divine intervention protecting the men because they seemed unharmed and protected by an image that looked like the son of a god (Daniel 3:25).
Let us continue our Scripture reading and finish this week with Daniel 3:26-28:
26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire, 27, and the satraps, prefects, governors, and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was the hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. 28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in Him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.”
Yesterday we learned that God provides protection, comfort, and peace in fear. However, today we realize through an unyielding faith, the kind Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego displayed, we are untouched by fear and the danger it holds.
When we face fear, the enemy tries to waiver our faith by doubt in the “what if” scenarios. Even when we can not see how or understand God’s ways, God is ABLE to FREE you from the fear holding you captive. Just as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced the “if not,” they knew God would protect them.
They received this protection by being untouched by fear and its danger. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were left unharmed, and not a single strand of hair on their heads burned. They didn’t even have the smell of fire on them! They were UNTOUCHED through God’s protection.
As you struggle with fear, don’t be held captive by it. Hold an assurance of faith that God is ABLE.
You will find the light with the peace God provides as you face danger.
I pray for peace over you today and welcome you to join me in another 3 Minutes A Day Series as we explore various mental health topics with Scripture.
