Positioned for PurposeExemplo
Step 4: Preparation
Part of positioning ourselves for purpose will include waiting.
We wait for God to give us vision, hear the next step in his plan, and wait on circumstances that are out of our control. It is a difficult thing to wait, but it is necessary.
To take advantage of the waiting time, use it for preparation. How can we prepare in the wait?
Humble Ourselves
To fully walk with the King of Kings, take to heart what it says in 1 Peter 5:6: Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. We want to walk out purpose, and often we want to walk it out our way.
If we recognize that God has higher thoughts and ways than we do (Isaiah 55:9), we can submit to his way-- our Father knows best.
When you don't understand, when the vision he gave you looks crazy, or you don't feel qualified for what he asks you to do, humble yourself. You can trust him; he won't lead you in the wrong direction, and he won't be late.
Learn
God often uses the wait time to teach us the lessons we will need for the next level he wants to take us to. If you aren't using your wait time wisely, you may be extending your wait time. Nobody wants that!
What has God been trying to teach you in this season? If the lesson isn't clear yet, ask him to show you. Spend time learning about his character by spending time in his Word.
A humble spirit is teachable.
Keep your hope in him during the wait. Prepare your life and your heart for whatever he has next for you. When you are walking in purpose, you will be so glad you used your wait time as preparation time.
Prayer: Father, you have called me by name for this time and purpose. I lay down my wants and desires for my life and submit to you. Please have your way with me, teach me what I need to know to walk out my destiny, and show me how to follow your will for my life. I know that you know best! In Jesus' name, amen.
