Behold: 7-Day Prayer JourneyExemplo
BEHOLD THE MAN AND KING
God coming to earth in the form of a man is scandalous to many people's minds as they cannot comprehend why an almighty God would humble Himself in such a way. We are used to respecting and trusting in people and institutions that portray size, power, and brutal might, yet when the almighty God chooses to reveal Himself on the earth he does so in the form of a lowly, humble man.
As we behold God, not only as a human but also as King, we can come into a great assurance of His care over our lives and ultimately the good creation that He made. To be a king means to have rulership or authority over a place, people, and resources. God is the ultimate king of not only the nations but all of creation, He is the ultimate king of all kings!
Jesus told His disciples to not be anxious or worried about the basic issues of life like food, clothing, and money, but rather as they seek the “kingdom”, which means to look to the king (God the Father) and His kingdom (God's ways of being in the world) that their king would provide for them in all things. (Matthew 6: 25 - 31)
Let’s Pray:
“Father, we thank you that you model to us through the testimony of your son who came in the form of a man how we as mortal men and women can place our ultimate trust not in the natural power sources of this world but rather in the ultimate source of power, authority, and might. We walk as mortal people who place our faith and hope in you. Thank you for the example of Jesus as a man to us who entrusted His life to the point of death into the hands of an almighty father, in Jesus' name. Amen"
- How does God being the King of kings affect how you see Jesus in your life?
- How do you model walking in the kingdom daily to your friends, neighbors, and work colleagues?
- What areas in your thinking need to be renewed so that you can focus on the real source of power in Jesus?
