ReroutingExemplo
When we make a bad decision or mistake, it can feel natural to want to cover it up. We know that what we did wasn’t right, but we also don’t want to add any consequences to what we’re already feeling. If we know what we did, why does anyone else need to know? What does confessing do? The problem is that covering up for one thing often leads us to cover up for another… and another… and another. Eventually, we find ourselves buried so far under our twists and lies that we can’t seem to find our way out. We hide what we’re ashamed of to keep anyone from finding out what we’ve done. In doing so, we paralyze ourselves, often trapping us in situations that we desperately don’t want to be in. And this is definitely not the life that God wants us to live! He doesn’t want us hiding in shame. Instead, He wants us to boldly stand by His side. That isn’t to say that we won’t face the consequences of our actions, but rather that, through confession, we can find mercy. We can find grace. We can find ourselves standing before a God who is more than happy to forgive us and bring us closer to Himself. Confessing to God can be the first step toward a better life with Him but remember that confession can take time. As a first step, spend some time with God today. It can be through prayer, reading your Bible, or just sitting in silence with Him. Let it be the start of moving your heart toward confession.

No matter the destination you’re trying to reach, the journey to get there comes with twists and turns instead of a straight path. We often have to reroute. In this devotional we’ll dive into what it looks like to reroute and find a new map along the journey. We’ll see many examples of God working to fulfill the plans He created for us.
