Unburden YourselfExemplo
Unrealistic standards are a burden.
God has given us many commands for wise living. We are to tell the truth, love others, and serve orphans, widows, and the poor. We are to be sexually pure and faithful to our spouses. We need to put God first above others and be faithful to God.
We are told not to lie, cheat, steal, commit adultery, swindle others, worship idols, or put anything else before God. The Bible lays out many good works for us to do and many sins for us to avoid.
These things take up a lot of our time. But we modern moms are never satisfied! So we add onto these biblical commands or prohibitions with a bunch of standards we won’t really meet consistently and then feel guilty for later:
- Immaculate house
- Full organic diet
- High school clothing size
- Perfectly obedient children
- A passive income side hustle
- Exciting vacations
- #relationshipgoals marriage
If your mindset is anything that you like or that looks nice or think you “should do,” then you’re set up to feel overburdened by all your goals.
If you fall short in any of those areas, you’ll likely condemn yourself, pretend it’s a conviction from God, and then wake up the next day working toward your unrealistic goals again.
Release yourself from self-imposed, unrealistic standards.
Sobre este plano
Attention, overburdened Mama! Mom life is hard in our modern culture. This plan will help you distinguish between true guilt and conviction from God versus false guilt and condemnation from your unrealistic standards. If you feel like life is win/lose (either the kids win and I lose, or I win and the kids lose), then dive into God’s Word and stop living in bondage.
