Making Faith MagneticExemplo
JESUS IS THE WAY TO CONNECT
Jesus is the True Vine and His followers are the branches. This means that we are able to flourish in His presence and power. On the other hand, anyone not connected to Jesus is cut off, a dead stick. So, in our search to connect, neither something nor someone will give us the meaningful, fulfilling relationship we’re looking for, apart from Jesus. He alone can scratch this itch for connection.
When we are connected to Jesus it means that His presence is with us at all times through the Holy Spirit. We experience this in the way He manifests God’s love to us. A love that is steadfast, true, and rooted in God’s character, not in our ability to earn it. We also experience His presence in the way that He helps us- He’s our counselor. The more connected we are to Him, the True Vine, the more we experience the power of His guidance in our decision-making, His forgiveness when we sin, and His peace as we navigate life. More than that, through the True Vine we are connected in a meaningful way to the entire Body of Christ- the global Church. His good design for our connection begins with Him, extends to all believers, and flows into a world needing connection.
Ask Yourself:
-How have I experienced connection with Jesus?
-Who in my life is looking for connection?
-How can I be a friend to someone looking for connection?
Pause to Pray: Jesus, You are the True way to connect. Strengthen my connection to You and to the Church so that my life and my faith are magnetic- drawing people to You.
Take a Next Step:
-Get the conversation started! Try this with someone you’ve been praying for:
“When have you felt connected to something bigger than yourself?”
“Do you feel valued and known by that thing/person you are connected to?
“Maybe our desire to connect points us to a relational God.”
-In your journal, brainstorm your own conversation starters! How will you help draw people to Jesus as the Way to Connect?
