Glimpses of the Journey: Journeying With JesusExemplo
Because of the Cross
We have been reminded of our Lord’s care and compassion throughout this past week. We have heard His wisdom. We have witnessed His power. And we have been confronted with His love.
Now what?
In light of His love and compassion, do we have any cause for fear? Is there any reason that worry should displace the peace and confidence that comes from the knowledge of His care? Is there any reason we should allow the hurts caused by man to derail us when we have been cared for by the Creator OF man?
In light of His wisdom, do we have any reason to doubt His dealings with us? Is there any cause to pout when we don’t get our way or when His answer is ‘no’ or ‘not yet’?
In light of His power, do we have any need to tremble at what seems like the impossible?
And in light of His love do we have any right to believe the enemy’s lies, or our own feelings, when they say “I am unloved”?
Truly, the cross and the resurrection change everything.
And because of the cross, because He said “yes” for us, how can we not say “yes” to Him?
“Yes, Lord, any time, any place, anywhere, for anything because You said ‘yes’ first. You said ‘yes’ to the cross. You said, ‘Not My will be done, but Yours be done.’”
If I lose sight of the fact that Jesus said “yes” for me, I may be reluctant to say “yes” to Him. But with the cross and resurrection in view, we are reminded that He is who He said He is, He did what He said He would do, He keeps His promises, He is trustworthy, and He literally loves us to death.
Because of the cross, we realize that saying “yes” to Him is just saying “Thank You” with our lives, for it’s all about Him, because of Him, by Him, and for Him.
“A dead Christ I must do everything for; a living Christ does everything for me.” (Andrew Murray)
He’s done it all for me. He’s done it all for you. Now we have the privilege of living for Him.
Thank you, Jesus, for having done everything for us! Our hearts are bursting in praise, gratitude, and awe. May we continue to say with our words – and our lives – “Thank You.”

“Passion Week” (or Holy Week), the week between Palm Sunday and Easter, reflects upon the passion displayed by Jesus as He endured the excruciating pain of the cross. Through this 7 day plan of select passages taken from His final week, we posture our hearts to praise Him for all He has done, marvel at His gift of salvation, and remember how much He loves and cares for His children.
