GenerosityExemplo
From Love, Generosity Flows
Towards the end of his first letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul gave Timothy the advice in this passage.
God’s generosity flows from His love. He has equipped us to enjoy the richness of His gifts. As God provides for us and sustains us then our gratitude for all He has given should flow to others. We love others because God first loved us.
We give because God has given and continues to give. God blesses and provides. He delights in providing for us so we may delight in Him, and in turn share that delight with others.
Paul goes on to tell Timothy to teach people to ‘use their money to do good.' We should be doing good works, and we should be ‘generous' to those in need. Although Paul’s focus is on money, there are other things with which we can and should be generous: with our time; with our talents and skills. We can be generous by recognizing and encouraging others. We can be generous by listening, supporting others emotionally, and through prayer. We can be generous by rolling up our sleeves and helping out, giving our time, talents, and expertise.
If we heed Paul’s advice to Timothy, we should look to God first for those things He wants to give us so that life is full and rich, because of His great and amazing love for us, for it is out of this love that our generosity flows.
