She Works His Way: 7 Gospel Truths for Working WomenExemplo
This whole story is crazy! Rebecca’s humbleness, courage, and instant obedience are mind-blowing. But get this: It all started with Rebecca making time for a stranger.
What if Rebecca had been too focused on herself or her tasks to stop and meet the needs of someone else? She would have missed this incredible opportunity!
Have you ever missed an opportunity to stop and serve someone because it was just one of those extra-busy days? You know, the kind of day when your schedule is really packed, and you’re focused on a deadline, so you just keep to yourself?
Yeah, me too.
God is sovereign, so He is in full control. He can do what He wills with or without us, but if we want to be part of His plan, we must be like Rebecca: aware and available.
How aware are you?
Are you so distracted by what you have going on that you forget to look up and see the people God has placed in your path? I promise you they’re not there by accident. You don’t know what that “drink of water” can lead to!
How available are you?
Do you find yourself avoiding people you know need or desire time with you because you just don’t have the margin?
If people are the point (and they are!), then our schedules should reflect that. Creating margin for people isn’t just a scheduling tip, it’s a biblical command.
And ultimately, serving others serves Christ. Getting personal and meeting needs is not something we can dismiss, delegate, or deflect. It’s not merely the job of an organization, but a personal responsibility for each of us. And not just any responsibility, but one that may result in one of His biggest blessings on your earthly life.
Relationships will always matter most. Always.
Father, make me more like You, especially in the way You love people. I know and rely on Your love, God. Make me one who abides in You, so I abide in love. Help me see souls—not just what my eyes see. Help me to love others for who You’ve made them to be and not for what they can do for me. Help me to love people genuinely and to remember that love is an action, not merely a feeling. Amen.
