Christian LonelinessExemplo
Day 1: Christian Loneliness
The Bible reminds us frequently that we are not of this world. We are foreigners and sojourners here. Essentially we’re just passing through. So it makes sense that there are times and seasons where we feel completely out of place.
At its core, our loneliness is due to our faith in Christ and His teachings being opposite to that of the world’s. If we believed and valued the same things as the world we would not feel lonely because it would be very easy to find people like us. Perhaps it wouldn’t be as bad if people would accept or respect Christian values even if they disagreed. However we are living in an age where expressing love for Jesus comes with mocking, insults, or worse.
Being lonely as a Christian can happen in a variety of circumstances. We can feel lonely in a relationship, seeking a relationship, in our family, at work, in society, and even in an environment that is supposed to be Christian. In this plan we’ll look at examples of each situation from Scripture.
One of my favorite things about God is that He takes bad situations and somehow makes good come out of them. Christian loneliness is no different. In this plan you will see how loneliness can breed a deep intimacy and dependence on God from which we can draw GREAT strength. Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your understanding and show you what God might be working through whatever kind of loneliness you are facing.
Remember that whatever you are facing now will not last forever. God is coming one day to make all things right. Hold on to hope.
Sobre este plano
Christianity is not supposed to be comfortable and convenient. If you stand for God, many times you may find yourself standing alone. One of the biggest challenges we face in a culture that is increasingly anti-Jesus, is loneliness. This plan will explore how to cope with loneliness by building a deeper relationship with God. By learning this we will never truly be alone.
