From Broken to WholeExemplo
Becoming Unified and Beautifully Whole
We heard Jesus say, “I collect all the broken pieces to make you whole.” Let’s dig into the first part of this sentence, the idea of Jesus collecting all that is broken. The word “collect” means to gather, or bring together. If pieces are broken, they are not gathered or brought together but rather scattered, disconnected, fragmented. And Jesus wants to bring together these pieces. He recognizes what is broken and He takes great care in doing what needs to be done so that the pieces can be what they are meant to be: brought together as a unified, beautiful whole.
Will you pause here, for a few moments, and consider this phrase Jesus says to you, “I collect all the broken pieces”? Repeat it a few times. In your mind—and, even better, out loud.
Do you believe Jesus is bringing together the parts of you that are broken? (Or is there a different way He is speaking to you here?) Do you believe He wants to assemble the broken parts in you, in your life, so they are unified, put together as they are meant to be?
Give yourself some time now to sit with these questions. Consider what it is you really feel. And then tell Jesus what you are thinking. What about Jesus do you truly believe? What is He saying to you here?
