Children of Promise

Galations 4:28

A “promise” is a pledge, a firm and unwavering commitment.

God’s Word is so filled with promises that Solomon described the entire book as “His good promise” (1 Kgs. 8:56 NKJV). It is the WORD OF GOD, made up of many words; it is the PROMISE OF GOD, made up of many promises. If God’s promises were removed from the Bible, it would be an undesirable read, proving our hopeless condition as fallen human beings. But when God’s promises are added and embraced by faith, the most broken person can be made whole, and the emptiest person can be filled to overflowing—with goodness, beauty and purpose.

Those who desire to enter a relationship with God normally start by claiming a Bible passage like Romans 10:9-10. Those two verses insist that if we confess Jesus as Lord of our lives, and believe that the Father resurrected him from the dead, we will be saved. Not only that, God promises we will obtain a status of righteousness in the sight of heaven.

If claiming just two promises in two verses can cause such a dramatic transformation, what will happen if our hearts widen to embrace all the pledges God has made to His people? According to one source, there are exactly 7,487. Praise God, He has already made commitments to grant His people forgiveness, grace, mercy, joy, peace, love, hope, healing, holiness, mental stability, strength, eternal life and much more. All you need to do is discover these promises, learn their meaning, then lay claim to them by faith. Miraculous breakthroughs are near.

DECLARE WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST

I declare that I am a child of promise! All 7,487 promises in God’s Word belong to me and I expect them to come to pass. I refuse to be spiritually weak, for I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I refuse to be depressed, for the joy of the Lord is my strength. I refuse to be sick, for with His stripes I was healed. I refuse to fear death, for I have the promise of eternal life. Yes, I am victorious in all things, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
