Daily Bible Reading – July 2021, God’s Word of FaithExemplo
July 28
Introduction
Even though members of the Thessalonian church were good examples of faith and love, some of them were listening to false teachings about Christ’s return. Paul then explains more about the Lord’s return and the Lord’s victory over “the Wicked One.” Paul reminds them that they were chosen for salvation.
Today’s Scripture Reading
2 Thessalonians 2:1-17
Today’s Key Verse: 2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17
"May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and in his grace gave us unfailing courage and a firm hope, encourage you and strengthen you to always do and say what is good."
Reflect
Some members of the Thessalonian church were upset because people were saying that the Day of the Lord had come and that they had missed out on this event. How does Paul reassure the believers? What in today’s reading do you find encouraging?
Pray
Dear God, I am bold to ask in your name for unfailing courage and a firm hope. Help me to always do and say what is good and remain steadfast in my faith in you. Amen.
