Am I the Master’s Choice?Exemplo
Ask, Don’t Assume
Life is beautiful, but not as simple. It requires disciplined life practices and clarity on our perceived life’s purpose to live with contentment. So is the case with work-related assignments. A business idea at the conceptual stage looks rosy, solving problems seem easier, timely delivery to market looks possible, and realizing the benefits appears quite certain. But since ‘the devil is in the details’, we have to dig deep and understand all the potential complexities involved. Having clarity at each stage is essential. It helps to ask the right questions at the right time and to thoroughly understand the project. Spending sufficient time to understand the explicit and implicit expectations is essential for the successful completion of the task.
When Abraham instructed his servant to go to Haran to find the bride destined for Isaac, the servant asked him if Isaac could be taken to Haran if the woman was not willing to come to Canaan (v 5). The servant tried to come up with possible alternate approaches. But, Abraham strongly assured him that the Lord would help the servant in fulfilling his responsibility. - vv 6-9
Asking the right questions at the right time is essential to understand the expectations of the boss/client. Understanding the associated risks and confirming that the risk mitigation steps are safe is crucial to any project. We need to agree beforehand on when to call an assignment a success, when to call it a failure, and when to call it off. Understanding expectations and the right way to handle exceptions will equip us to execute the plan in alignment with the vision.
The God of Abraham who went before the servant will be with us if we seek His guidance as the servant did continually. Do we ask as many and right questions to enable us to deliver to the satisfaction of our Master? Do we take guidance from the Lord?
Lord, please grant me the wisdom to ask the right questions at the right time so that I will be able to fulfill my mission in alignment with the vision. Amen

It is essential that we fulfill the responsibility for which we were called by God and hired by our company. What is the Vision/Purpose of your life from God’s point of view and how have you been fulfilling it? Who other than God can guide us in His will and purpose?
