14 Days to Integrating Faith and FitnessExemplo
Find Purpose
When we are served, we discover our identity: our value, our worth, and who we are. But when we serve others, we find our purpose and meaning. So if you want to build spiritual health, and integrate your faith and your fitness, discovering your purpose is essential. And you’ll most easily uncover that as you serve others.
What would you do if you knew you had one day left to live? Would you eat junk food, travel, and do something crazy that you’ve always wanted to do? Do you know what Jesus did when he was posed with this exact same scenario? Jesus KNEW he had one day left to live, and he served others, washing the dirty, grimy feet of his disciples. Everything God does is infused by and motivated by love.
Oftentimes, finding our purpose in life comes as we serve others, selflessly with no strings attached. Not with the hook of, “I’ll help you if you’ll pay me back,” or, “I’ll help you, but you have to clean up your life first.” If you follow up, “I’ll help you” with the word, “but…” you’re not serving like Jesus.
We find that when we serve like Jesus, something inside us is ignited. We have that opportunity today to choose kindness, grace, love, and generosity to those God brings across our path. This will cost you something. But what you gain will be much more valuable.
Have you uncovered God’s purpose for your life?
